North Queensland 2023

It's been a long time since I attempted to document one of our trips and much has changed in that time. This won't be a motorcycle story as we are now caravaners and although there have been a number of shorter trips, some very successful and others not so much, I haven't felt the need to put fingers to the keyboard to record them. Due to the different mode of travel, my plan is to record this trip differently and instead of daily updates, days will be grouped by particular places or days.

Our mode of travel is a Ford Everest Trend 2 litre bi-turbo towing a 17'6" On The Move TRAXX Series II caravan. Big enough for two people and small enough to park into a tight spot at home.

The trip will hopefully take us as far north as Cooktown and west to Winton. The trip was originally planned to be done anti-clockwise but with our Ulysses RV Group planning a tag-a-long trip to Lake Dunn, north of Aramac, we rerouted to a clockwise direction to meet the timings of that trip and use it as starting point.

As usual, I will be maintaining a GPS trail of where we travel. Find the map here.
